When Diabetes Comes Stalking

Diabetes

The number of people with high levels of blood sugar has been climbing rapidly in all age groups. For an ever-increasing number of Americans, the issue of high blood sugar levels has become paramount.

Retaining normal blood sugar balance is an important part of controlling long-term health. An estimated one in four Americans, or 70 million people, could benefit from dietary support to help the body make efficient use of the insulin it already produces.

The glucose regulation supplement we highly recommend provides natural support for normal glucose metabolism. It helps to transport glucose into cells, making your system more efficient and effective at utilizing blood sugar, and helping to retain normal blood sugar levels.

Don't let diabetes destroy your body. Change your life-style with proper diet, exercise, and nutritional supplements. Get your doctor's advice before starting any program to control diabetes. But remember, many physicians would rather treat their patiences with drug therapy, rather than vitamin and holistic therapy. It is your body and you must decide what is best for you. Some types of diabetes requires medication, but can be helped with the proper nutrition, exercise, and supplementation.

Type II or non-insulin-dependent diabetes affects over 16 million adults. In the U.S. it is a leading cause of heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, and blindness. According to a large Harvard study, women who increase their fiber may be able to avoid the most common form of diabetes.

Vitamin E has also been reported to prevent the devastating complications of blindness, heart disease, and kidney failure due to diabetes. Some researchers believe that these complications are due to 3oxidative stress2 damage caused by free radicals and that they are best avoided by taking a protective amount (1200 IU) of vitamin E each day. The role of other antioxidants in the prevention of diabetes complications are being studied as well. Angelo Azzi, Ph.D., a professor at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Bern, Switzerland states, 3The important thing (about vitamin E) is to take it.2

Also high fiber diets and nutritional supplements such as, Soy Protein may help with diabetes. Nutritional expert
Dr. Bruce Miller teaches, 3How are Americans doing fiber-wise? Not too good. The average daily fiber intake is 9 - 12 grams. Most health agencies recommend at least 30 grams a day. Given the average person9s dietary choices, it would require a massive and drastic change in dietary habits to come anywhere near 30 grams. People strongly resist sudden and drastic changes in their diets. Very, very few will take the vital step of changing their diet to attain 30 grams of fiber.2

Dr. Miller recommends

3The Shaklee Corporation carries an amazing five fiber supplements!! Tablets, Wafers, Drink Mix, a Daily Blend and an extremely versatile Fiber Plan. Daily Crunch. There is a fiber supplement for everyone, no matter your tastes. Since fiber can help prevent diabetes which is the root cause of a number of diseases, I feel it urgent to add a supplement. Sure, I encourage you to change your diet toward high fiber as much as you can, but for safety's sake add a supplement.2

My personal testimony

I have had Type II Diabetes since 1994. My blood sugar levels were over 300 and my health was deteriorating at only 50 years old. My wife patiently encouraged me to be more serious about taking vitamins, losing weight, and exercising. I now take my Shaklee Vitamins daily, exercise around one hour per day, and have lost around 25 pounds. I feel great and my blood sugar is consistently under 120.

I found the best thing for me was to stop snacking between meals and to eliminate my nightly bowl of ice cream. (*I'm a recovering "ice cream-aholic." I also have eliminated all sodas, except for the Diet-Rite soda sweetened with Splenda. I try not to have a heavy or late evening meal. I try not to eat any fried or high-carbohydrate foods. I now eat more fruits and vegetables, plus drink lots of water. The most important addition to my diet is Energizing Soy Protein. I add a serving to every bowl of cereal, plus often substitute my lunch sandwich or meal with a Soy Protein drink. Committed to wellness and helping others experience good health, I invite anyone to call me at: (706) 492-4709 for a FREE personal consultation.
